- We have an outreach to schools in the Diocese by donating Bibles for their Religious Education classes. Money for these Bibles comes from donations given by individuals, groups and branches.
- Emergency hospital packs are made up by a group and then given to the Ballarat Health Services for distribution to anyone who is admitted unexpectedly, especially the out-of-towners.
- Is used with messages of a joyous nature, such as birth, anniversary, a home coming or the loss of a loved one. This is kept in the Cathedral. Monies donated for the messages is put into a Fund and given to the Deacons to put towards the purchase of their books.
Emergency Accommodation Fund
- "This fund inaugurated in 1988, was launched on Lady Day by Bishop Graeme Walden, firstly as Emergency Caravan Accommodation.
- Now, all types of accommodation, at the most reasonable rate, for a maximum period of five days, for those in desperate need, anywhere in the Diocese. Recommendation of a client must come from a Parish Priest, who then contacts the President or Secretary or the Dean of the Cathedral for approval. All costs are reimbursed by the Diocesan Mothers' Union Emergency Accommodation Fund."
- The money is invested and the interest is used for this fund.
