The diocese covers 37% of New South Wales, including the Riverina and the Far West of the State. The main population centres within the Diocese of Riverina are Griffith, Broken Hill, Deniliquin, Leeton, Narrandera and Corowa.
Mothers' Union started in the Riverina over one hundred years ago. There are now branches in Griffith, Leeton, Hay and Coolamon. In addition there are eight Lone members in areas where there is not a local branch Riverina members participate in a variety of branch activities:
Diocese of The Riverina – Lady Day 2024 Saturday 13th April St Mark’s Anglican Church, Coleambally (28 Kookaburra Ave, Coleambally 10:00am morning tea on arrival 10:30 am Mass will be followed by our Diocesan AGM and then lunch, kindly provided by the parish of Coleambally Darlington Point. Cost is $15 MU Riverina MU members travelled to Lake Cargelligo to celebrate Lady Day: Riverina Mothers' Union members and friends made the pilgrimage to the remote parish of Lake Cargelligo to celebrate 2023 Lady Day - the Feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary - to share in a day of fellowship as a Diocese, and to bless the new shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Mary said, 'Here am I, the servant of the Lord; let it be with me according to your word.' |
