Gracious God, look with compassion on those who are suffering the affects of the deluge at this time.
We pray for those whose lives have been lost, and for the families who mourn.
Embrace those whose homes have been damaged or destroyed, so that they may feel your presence within them.
We give thanks for those who have come to their aid through saving lives, rescuing those in peril, providing material, emotional and spiritual support, and in helping to clean up the cities and towns.
Give your devastated people hope for the future, as they are lovingly cared for by family and strangers.
When the waters subside, renew your land and help us to recover and rebuild our communities.
We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
